Senators contend that the focuses for them are foreclosures

Two Senators delivered statements in Washington while responding to Sun-Star series.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (Democrat/California) said that together with her staff she was laboring continuously to give as much of help as feasible to residents of California who are under threat from foreclosures. She claims to have connected the victims with counseling agencies and also forwarded the complaints to the regulators of the state and the federal government. She also said that steps have been taken to connect the borrowers with the lenders who have so far failed to respond. Hundreds of letters have been dispatched to the CEOs of the banks and regulatory agencies of the state asking them to cooperate in the matter.

Feinstein admitted that there was no doubt about the Central Valley being one of the worst hit regions and as such efforts would continue to help the residents to steer through the rough times.

Senator Barbara Boxer (Democrat/California) made a statement saying that she was aware of the fact that the foreclosure mayhem was causing extreme pain to many families of California.  It was especially distressing in Merced County.

Boxer reiterated that when one loses the roof above the head it is akin to the vanishing of a dream. It is for this reason that she and her team are trying in every possible way to alter the laws pertaining to bankruptcy. If this was done then the judges of bankruptcy courts would be able to see that people were not thrown out of their homes. She said that her group had tried again and again to do so, but each time obstructive tactics were employed to block this step.

The Californians are enraged with the failure of the banks to help avoidance of foreclosures so that they can continue to stay in houses that are their homes. Boxer added that in the Senate she had been cooperating with efforts to help loan modifications, with attempts to provide extra funding for the house counseling agencies and to assist the borrowers facing risk to escape from the clutches of foreclosure. But in most of the cases the banks are procrastinating causing the families of California to be left in the lurch sans any relief.
